**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic specialized in Above Ground Storage Tanks (AST) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of tank seals and will be able to layout, cut, fit, grind on tank projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of tank systems, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
**Key Responsibilities:**-
- Seal installation and tank repair operations
- Able to layout, cut, fit, grind on tank projects.
- Operate equipment safely
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed on storage tanks.
- Collaborate with environmental and safety teams to ensure best practices are followed and safety protocols are adhered to.
- Respond to emergencies related to tank operations and assist in spill response efforts as required.
- Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules.
- Participate in training programs to remain current on industry standards, regulations, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other regulatory requirements.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical education or certification in mechanics, hydraulics, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically with above-ground storage tanks or related systems.
- Strong knowledge of tank construction, relevant safety regulations, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment necessary for tank maintenance and repair.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; willingness to travel as needed.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as required by job responsibilities.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, when necessary.
